FCT and "la Caixa" Foundation launch the 5th edition of the Promove Program

Applications for the 5th edition (2023) of the Promove Program, an initiative of the "la Caixa" Foundation in partnership with BPI and FCT, are now open and will run until 7 February 2023.

The Promove Program aims to support innovative initiatives in strategic areas for the development of inland regions with border dynamics and that are replicable for other regions with similar characteristics.

The 2023 edition of the program supports three types of initiatives:

• Innovative pilot projects;
• Mobilizing R&D projects;
• Ideas with the potential to become innovative pilot projects.

Considering that the partnership with the FCT is exclusive to project funding, the following may apply to Call of the innovative pilot projects: companies, under any legal form and of any size; entities of the National Science and Technology System or other private non-profit entities; individually or in consortia. In the case of consortia, applications may include entities of the central and local administration and the public business sector, as well as informal groups that act for the common good but are not formally registered.

For the Call of mobilizing R&D projects, applications must be led by R&D units that have been rated Very Good or Excellent in the most recent FCT evaluation. They may have as partners any non-business entities, under any legal form and of any size, of the National Scientific and Technological System, namely: higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units; State or international laboratories with headquarters in Portugal; private non-profit institutions whose main object is R&D activities, and also other public and private non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities. In the case of consortia, applications may also include entities from central and local government and the public business sector and companies of any nature and under any legal form.
