Research 4 COVID-19

Considering the outbreak of the new coronavirus and COVID-19 and the situation of uncertainty and social alarm experienced, but also the scientific and technological capacity existing in Portugal, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in collaboration with the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB), has granted special support, "Research 4 COVID-19", to R&D projects and initiatives to meet the needs of the National Health Service (NHS) in response to this and future pandemics in a very short time.

The aim is to stimulate national collaborative R&D networks, as well as the reorientation of activity in the R&D units supported by the FCT towards R&D initiatives that meet the needs of the National Health Service (SNS).
