1st Scientists on Tour Conference - Health Marathon Awards

The association Maratona da Saúde promotes, on the 12th of December, the 1st Scientists on Tour Conference - Maratona da Saúde Awards in Biomedical Research, which will take place at the Thalia Theater, in Lisbon, between 17h00 and 19h00. To attend the session please register on the site.

This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education and will be the first of four conferences for the public presentation of 11 research projects, in various areas of biomedicine, being developed by researchers who have won the Marathon Health Awards, funded by civil society.

This first session will feature the participation of five prize-winning scientists who develop their projects in the Lisbon region. The winners of the most recent editions will present the plan they intend to develop with the funding awarded by the prize, and those who are at a more advanced stage of the project will present the progress of their research. In addition to these guests, the session will feature the testimonies of several life cases, in a round table that will promote a more direct involvement between patients and scientists, with the aim of creating an environment of hope based on biomedical research.

The Scientists on Tour conferences will also take place in Porto, Coimbra and Faro in the coming months, and the dates will be announced soon.
