The deadline for applications for funding co-promoted projects between companies and non-business entities of the R&I system has been extended until June 17. Applications to Call, which is promoted by PORTUGAL2020, ANI and FCT, should be submitted through the Portugal 2020 Information Desk. The stipulated budget is 22.8 M€. This Call marks the third phase of the International Partnerships with Carnegie Mellon University, MIT and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), which began in 2018 and runs until 2030. The aim is to give national companies the role of facilitators of networks and collaborative projects, with the support of Portuguese R&D institutions and taking advantage of the experience and knowledge of North American universities. The goal is to build a model in which national companies lead the process of modernizing the economic fabric, strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Portugal.
Co-promoted projects led by Portuguese companies in partnership with national academic entities that contribute to consolidating the intergovernmental "Atlantic Interactions" initiative may apply. It aims to stimulate scientific and business development, promote the affirmation of Portugal in the world through scientific and economic valorization of an innovative agenda on "Atlantic Interactions", attracting funding and mobilizing various actors, national and international, with an innovative approach in various areas of knowledge. This new phase will provide the creation of qualified jobs, attracting to Portugal human resources of recognized international merit.
