Science 2019 - Meeting with Science and Technology in Portugal

From July 8 to 10, another edition of Ciência 2019 - Meeting with Science and Technology in Portugal will take place at the Lisbon Congress Center. This year the guest country is the United Kingdom.

The event seeks to bring together the Portuguese scientific community around a multidisciplinary program that addresses the current scientific and societal challenges, based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. This year is particularly marked by numerous scientific celebrations - International Year of the Periodic Table, 100 years since Eddington's expedition to S. Tomé and Príncipe, 100 years since the publication of the International Year of the Periodic Table, 100 years since Eddington's expedition to S. Tomé and Príncipe, and 100 years since the publication of the International Year of the Periodic Table. Tome and Principe, 100 years of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), 50 years of the first man landing on the moon, 500 years of the circumnavigation voyage of Ferdinand Magellan - so we challenge the R&D Units and their researchers to participate in Science 2019, a meeting that aims to highlight the need to deepen research and innovation and strengthen dialogue and communication about the knowledge developed in the country.

The various challenges of the scientific agenda is another topic under debate at the Meeting with the aim of encouraging interaction between researchers, the business sector and the general public. In addition to the various communications, the event also has a space for demonstrations of R&D activities and the exhibition of digital posters of doctoral students with FCT grants on the ongoing activities and/or recent results of their research.

 

The Science Meeting 2019 is promoted by FCT in collaboration with the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture Ciência Viva (Live Science) and the Parliamentary Committee for Education and Science, and has the institutional support of the Government, through the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
