European Commission surveys centers of expertise and competence in cybersecurity

The European Commission is conducting aEurope-wide survey of cybersecurity expertise and competence centers. This survey has been extended until March 8 and its main objective is to identify public and private entities in the European Union that develop research in areas related to cybersecurity. This initiative aims to respond to the proposals of the Joint Communication "Resilience, Deterrence and Defense: Strengthening Cybersecurity in the EU", namely on the establishment of a network of cybersecurity competence centers, built around a European Research and Competence Center in this area.

This network will allow stimulating "the development and deployment of cybersecurity technologies and will complement efforts to strengthen capacities in this domain, at EU and national level", as stated in the Joint Communication "Resilience, Deterrence and Defense: Strengthening Cybersecurity in the EU". In this sense, the participation of national centers in this survey may allow a greater visibility of the national capacity already existing in this area, as well as enhance the best use of benefits that may be available at the European level.

Participation in this survey requires completion of this form.

We also highlight the opening of a call with a funding value of 50 million euros, for a pilot phase of projects aimed at creating the aforementioned network of cybersecurity competence centers. This call is promoted by the European Commission and runs until May 29th. More information here.
