Climate Science from Space Conference

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, with the support of the European Commission, is organizing the Climate Science from Space conference online on April 21st and 22nd, as part of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021.

This conference will have as motto "synergies for a greener innovation economy" and will seek to establish links between space and climate ecosystems, as well as to contribute to the European Ecological Pact and the transition to a greener society and economy. Space-based systems will be presented as a way to improve everyday life and contribute to the protection of our planet, as well as concrete examples of development and innovation from the perspective of implementing initiatives built on space applications with direct impact, such as the Copernicus Program. At the conference, Portuguese, European and international initiatives, projects and policies that present innovation and technologies for the green transition will also be disclosed.

Climate Science from Space will be attended by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel. The initiative is supported by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, Portugal Space, AIR Centre, Eupportunity and Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI).
