Applications are open for the Summer with Science 2021

FCT has opened the applications for the special support "Summer with Science 2021". Applications will be accepted until 17h00 (Lisbon time) on July 23, 2021.

The "Summer with Science" is a special support awarded by FCT for scientific and technological research activities in R&D units with a view to enhancing scientific and technological capacity and its relationship with higher education and society. This support aims to stimulate the initiation of scientific activity, thus contributing to the promotion of scientific and technological culture and to the diffusion and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge among higher education students.

This program aims to support "Summer with Science" projects for scientific and technological research activities in R&D units, through the funding of Studentships of initiation to research (Article 5 of the FCT Regulation of Studentships ) for on-site scientific research activities. This support is intended for R&D units that obtained the classification of Good, Very Good or Excellent, awarded by FCT in the evaluation process of R&D Units 2017-2018.

This is the second edition of the Summer with Science initiative, which in the year 2020 funded 87 training actions from 22 institutions and 1175 Studentships of initiation to research and research under the special support promoted in collaboration with the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGES).
