FCT and "la Caixa" Foundation launch the 4th edition of the Promove Program

FCT and La Caixa Foundation have renewed the collaboration agreement that gives continuity to the Promote Program and launched the 4th edition of Call of projects under this program. Applications to Promove 2022 are already open and will run until January 24, 2022.

The Promove Program aims to stimulate innovative initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of Portugal's inland regions. This program intends to invest in the management of natural resources, in the creation of new poles of development and in attracting tourists and new residents. It will support innovative pilot projects, innovative ideas and mobilizing research projects in four strategic areas identified by the Portuguese Government: thermal water, parks and natural reserves, studies on biological risks and development, promotion and valorization of new cultures and natural products for the national and international market.

The Promove Program, created in 2018 by the "la Caixa" Foundation in collaboration with BPI, has already supported a total of 26 projects and 13 innovative ideas, worth a total of about 4 million euros. Of this amount, 1.2 million euros were provided by the FCT. Within the partnerships with the "La Caixa" Foundation, the FCT also promotes the Call CaixaResearch for Health Research - Iberian Initiative for Biomedical Research and Innovation - i4b and the Call for Social Research - Iberian Initiative for Social Research and Innovation - i4s.
