FCT published the Notice of the Call of the 5th edition of the CEEC Individual

FCT has published the Notice of the Call of the 5th edition of Call Estímulo ao Emprego Científico Individual (CEEC Individual), whose applications will run from February 3, 2022 until 17:00 (Lisbon time) on March 3, 2022. This Call provides for the hiring of 400 more doctoral researchers under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC).

The CEEC Individual is an annual call that directly supports the hiring of PhD researchers, in all scientific areas, who intend to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, in the institutions of the National System of Science and Technology (SNCT).

Individual CEEC contracts last up to 6 years and are awarded according to four categories: Junior Researcher, for PhD holders of 5 years or less, with limited postdoctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they are applying; Assistant Researcher, for PhD holders of more than 5 years and less than 12 years, with relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying and with limited scientific independence; Principal investigator, for PhD holders of more than 12 years, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating some scientific independence in the last 3 years; and Principal investigator, for PhD holders of a habilitation or aggregation title in Portugal, with a curriculum of high merit in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating scientific independence and with evidence of leadership in that scientific area.

The Individual CEEC, together with the Institutional CEEC, is a funding instrument for hiring researchers created by FCT in 2017, following the publication of Decree-Law No. 57/2016 and with the aim of stimulating scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge.

The Stimulus for Scientific Employment program, through the five editions of the Individual CEEC and the two editions of the Institutional CEEC launched so far, totals 2,600 openings for contracts with doctoral researchers.
