The event brings together speakers from across Europe and includes interventions from researchers, business leaders, and policy and government officials, with the aim of mobilizing all of Europe for the "Horizon Europe, 2021-27" program and its articulation with the national recovery and resilience programs under preparation under the "Next Generation EU, 2021-26" program.

During the event, ideas for promoting the dual green and digital transition across Europe, in association with a resilient recovery through a renewed European Research Area (ERA ), will be particularly presented and discussed.

The program document includes a background note on the critical issues facing this process and the promotion of R&D activity in Europe today, including the need to increase public and private investment in R&D, notably in the context of the European Commission's recent reaffirmation of the 3% target for R&D investment in terms of gross domestic product by 2030.

In Portugal, the coordination and dissemination of the strategy to strengthen national participation in the program "Horizon Europe, 2021-27" is done through the PERIN- "Portugal in Europe Research and Innovation Network", which includes the main funding agencies and R&D promoters, namely FCT, ANI, AICIB, PT Space, ERSMUS Agency and DGES, in close coordination with the European programs promotion offices in academic and research institutions, as well as in companies, business associations and business incubation and interface centers.
