Miguel Seabra elected President of Science Europe

Elected today unanimously by the General Assembly of Science Europe, Miguel Seabra will lead this organization for the next two years, which aims to be a collaborative platform to stimulate and strengthen research in Europe, acting mainly at the level of defining scientific policies.

In light of the nomination, Miguel Seabra revealed that he feels "honored". "Establishing Science Europe as the central body in the definition of scientific policies in Europe" is his vision for the organization that he believes "has come a long way since its creation in 2011, by establishing itself as the voice of science funding agencies and European research institutes."

Miguel Seabra succeeds Paul Boyle, who praised the appointment by saying, "Miguel Seabra has played a key role in the Science Europe General Assembly and as a member of the Board. I have no doubt that under his leadership the organization will strengthen its position. I wish him every success."
