New FCT Directive Council takes office for the triennial 2016-2018

The Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education; Manuel Heitor, presided over the inauguration of the new FCT Board of Directors, in a ceremony attended by several representatives of the national scientific community, as well as FCT employees.

The Board of Directors thus assumes the mandate for the three-year period 2016-2018. It is composed of the President, Paulo Ferrão (Director of the MIT-Portugal Program and Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon), the Vice-president, Miguel Castanho (Full Professor and sub-director of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon), the members are Isabel Ribeiro (Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon) and Ana Sanchez (coordinator of the Office of Communication and Dissemination of Science at the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon).

During the inauguration ceremony of the new Board of Directors, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education presented the FCT Charter of Principles, where the main guidelines for the institution are defined.
