Paulo Quaresma takes office as FCT board member

Paulo Quaresma assumed today the position of member of the Directive Council of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

A Full Professor at the University of Évora, Paulo Quaresma has held the positions of Vice-Rector for Research and Development from 2014 to 2018 and Director of the School of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013 at the institution.

He has a PhD in Computer Science from the New University of Lisbon (1997), specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. He was responsible for several PhD, Master's and Undergraduate curricular units and oriented several PhD and Master's students.

He has coordinated several research projects, funded by several Portuguese and European entities and has published over 100 scientific papers in international journals and conferences.

Paulo Quaresma replaces Nuno Feixa Rodrigues, who joined FCT's Board of Directors in April 2019 and who is now leaving office.
