CMU Portugal Program opens Call for Studentships doctoral candidates

FCT has opened the applications for the 2022/2023 edition of Call de Studentships de Doutoramento (BD) under the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program (CMU Portugal). The Call aims to grant up to 10 Studentships to be held in Portugal and at CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) in the context of dual PhD programs. The areas to be Call and respective application deadlines are the following:

• Informatics - Computer Science (CS) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Electrical and Computer Engineering - Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) | applications until 31/12/2021
• Engineering and Public Policy - Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) | applications until 15/12/2021
• Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) | applications until 12/09/2021
• Language Technologies (LTI) | applications until 09/12/2021
• Robotics - Robotics (CS/R) | applications until 12/09/2021
• Software Engineering - Software Engineering (SE) | applications until 12/09/2021

Applications must be made online through the page of each Doctoral Program at Carnegie Mellon University. Applicants must select the corresponding Doctoral Program within the CMU Portugal Program.

The Studentship doctoral program will only be granted if the candidates are admitted to the PhD Program at CMU and the corresponding Portuguese university. Each candidate may submit only one application to the same doctoral program, under penalty of cancellation of all submitted applications.

The Call is intended, in accordance with the Regulation of FCT Research Studentships (RBI), a:

- Nationals, citizens of other European Union Member States;

- Third State Citizens;

- Stateless;

- Citizens benefiting from political refugee status.

 The Studentships will be financed by FCT, under the collaboration agreement with CMU.
