Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED)

The Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) is now open for applications to Call 2022. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 21, 2022.

This year Call covers 7 thematic areas, which are specifically: health, agro-food, industrial development, sustainable development, ICT, science and society, and energy.

The Thematic Networks that can integrate the program are research and development (R&D) teams from public or private entities and companies from member countries of the CYTED Program, whose scientific and/or technological activities are related within a scope of common interest and framed within one of the areas of the Program. Their main objective is the exchange of knowledge between R&D teams and the promotion of cooperation as a work method. Minimum of 6 teams from 6 different Iberoamerican countries, members of the CYTED Program, with demonstrated capacity and activity in R+D+i actions.

The Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) was created in 1984 through an inter-institutional agreement signed by 21 Iberoamerican countries. Since 1995, the CYTED Program has been formally included among the Cooperation Programs of the Iberoamerican Summits of Heads of State and Government.

The participation in this Cooperation Program is monitored in Portugal by the FCT-Foundation for Science and Technology, allowing the establishment of scientific and technical cooperation programs with teams from a large number of Latin American countries.
