UTAustin Program

Under the UTAustin - Portugal Program, FCT has announced the result of the Call for Exploratory Research Projects that recommends 8 projects for funding from the 54 applications received. The total investment for the realization of these projects is 390,370.22 euros, and the maximum funding limit for each project is 50 thousand euros.

This Call aims to develop research activities between Portuguese universities and the University of Texas at Austin (UTAustin) in which exploratory projects with expansion enhance solutions to real-world problems. The projects selected in this edition will explore the areas of Advanced Computing; Medical Physics for Emerging Cancer Therapies; Nanomaterials for New Markets and Space-Earth Interactions.

This Call was held under the partnership agreement between FCT and the University of Texas at Austin, integrated into the goPORTUGAL - Global Partnerships in Science and Technology program, promoted by FCT, and whose mission and objectives are to enhance the process of internationalization of scientific and technological research in Portugal, developing the creation of scientific and qualified employment and fostering the creation and growth of new science and technology based companies. The goPORTUGAL program includes partnerships with other leading foreign research institutions, such as Carnegie Mellon, Harvard Medical School, Imperial College London, and Fraunhofer.
