Next Call FCT for Projects in All Scientific Domains

FCT published today the Call for Applications to the next Call for projects in all Scientific Domains. The period for submission of applications will run from February 8 to March 10, 2022 and the Declaration of Commitment of the applicants must be submitted by March 24, 2022.

The Call has a budget of 75 million euros and will support two types of projects:

- Scientific research and technological development projects (IC&DT), with a duration of 36 months and maximum funding per project of 250 thousand euros. The budget allocation for this type of project is 55 million euros;

- Exploratory research projects (PeX), with a duration of 18 months and maximum funding per project of 50 thousand euros. The budget allocation for this typology is 20 million euros.

The two types of projects were introduced in last year's Call of projects, in response to suggestions from the scientific community. With an annual periodicity, the Call of Projects in all Scientific Domains integrates the set of the FCT's great structuring Calls , whose schedule is established until 2023 and published on the website. The regularity and predictability for the major Calls was one of the commitments made by FCT with the scientific community, following since 2019 the published calendar.

The application form and the guide to support the completion of the form will be made available on the website Call on the opening day of applications, February 8. Applications will be submitted in English through the FCT Portal Calls .

It should be recalled that the results of the Call of Projects in all Scientific Domains for 2021 were released by FCT last July. In this Call 551 projects were selected for funding, of which 256 were IC&DT Projects and 305 PeX Projects.
