Sessions from the Gender Research 4 Covid-19 Workshop are available for viewing

On March 23rd and 24th, FCT and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) promoted a workshop with the theme "COVID 19 and Gender Equality: Research on the Impacts of the Pandemic and Contributions to Public Policies". This online meeting, dedicated to the special support to Gender Research projects 4 Covid-19 launched by FCT and that can now be viewed online, had a maximum of 368 participants - 239 on the first day and 129 on the second.

This workshop was attended by 15 of the projects approved for funding, who made a presentation of the research they have underway under this FCT funding line on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives of women and men, which are also included in a brochure published by the FCT for this occasion and which is available here. The program of the session was also attended by the Minister of State and of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, the Secretary of State of Science, Technology and Higher Education, João Sobrinho Teixeira, the President of FCT, Helena Pereira, and the President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, Sandra Ribeiro.

The special support Gender Research 4 Covid-19, for research projects on the impact of the health emergency caused by COVID-19 on gender inequalities and violence against women and domestic violence, was promoted by FCT, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality and the support of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG). It aimed to fund projects and initiatives that enable the production and dissemination of knowledge about the gender impacts of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and the dissemination of contingency plans and measures adopted to contain and resolve it.
